Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread with Streusel Topping

This pumpkin chocolate chip bread with streusel topping has something for everyone in my family. It has a thick streusel topping for the one who could eat any streusel by the spoonful. This pumpkin bread is moist with all the flavors the pumpkin lover in the family desires for. Then there is this nutty brown butter hint in the loaf to please the one who swears by brown butter. And of course chocolate chips for the one whose idea of a treat has to involve some kind of chocolate.

Pumpking bread - main

If you are a purist when it comes to pumpkin bread, you can leave out the streusel and chocolate chips. You can use vegetable oil instead of the browned butter. And you’ll still end up with a delicious and moist pumpkin bread.

As for me, I like the whole deal in this bread. I like the crunchiness of the streusel topping, nuttiness of the brown butter and the pretty sight of the chocolate chips dotted all over the bread. I mix  the chocolate chips with some of the streusel before adding it to the batter so that the chips do not sink into the bottom while baking and are nicely distributed throughout.

A pumpkin bread with just the right amount of volume turned up. Make it and you will discover that this one is a crowd-pleaser, just the way it was meant to be.
